We went to MK for our Valentine’s Day dinner and it was absolutely phenomenal! The prix fixe menu offered great options. The steak was cooked perfectly, the dessert was delicious, and every course felt thoughtfully prepared. Even though the restaurant was very busy for the holiday, everything ran smoothly. The hosts were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, which set a wonderful tone for the evening. We also tried all of the Valentine’s specialty drinks — each one was a fun addition to the experience. A special thank you to our server Coleen, who provided outstanding service and made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, an amazing dining experience and a perfect place for a special occasion. We will definitely be back!

Tonight was our second time here. The first was a group of 5 in a booth, and the second was just the two of us at a table inside the bar area. Both times service and food were excellent. Tonight Chastity set us up right, we had crab avocado salad to start and shared the filet lollipops and the sautéed prawns. The music was great, not too loud. We will be back again as a couple or a group. Really enjoy the atmosphere, food, and company. Last note, my partner called around 7 to see if we could get a table in the bar area, and they were very accommodating.

Had a fantastic dinner last night at MK. We started out with a drink in the bar. The vibe is outstanding and better than most suburban establishments I have been to. Great music and decor and I loved my espresso martini. After our drink we we were shown to an intimate booth in the restaurant. We ordered to share and tried the restaurant week menu (Frito Mixto, MK Wedge and Pan Seared Diver Scallops) and as well as the Brussels Sprouts and Steak Giardiniera which is served with smashed fingerling potatoes. It was SO much food. Standouts were with salad, calamari and steak. I would order that steak again and again! I did think the scallops were under dressed/seasoned and the brussels sprouts were good but not the best I have had. The real standout though was our waiter Chelsey (sorry if I spelled that wrong). She was so helpful, affable and a pleasure to deal with. If you pop in ask for her!!! We will definitely be back - this is a great addition to the western suburbs dining "scene"!

Date night at MK Steak and overall a very solid experience—though definitely a splurge. We were greeted and seated immediately, which set a good tone. The space feels like a modern steakhouse with dark decor and marble tables, but it runs loud. Conversation across a two-top was tough at times. This isn’t a cozy, linger-all-night kind of spot—it’s energetic and efficient. Service was excellent from start to finish. Our server was knowledgeable, confident, and paced the meal well. We were in and out in about an hour without ever feeling rushed. When an entrée missed the mark, they handled it perfectly (more on that below). Food highlights started strong. The East Coast oysters were fantastic—fresh and clean. The tuna tartare was excellent, especially the miso sauce, which really made the dish. Easily the standout of the night. My wife had the 6 oz filet with parmesan crust and creamed spinach. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, though the parmesan crust felt unnecessary. The creamed spinach was rich, delicious, and a massive portion—enough for several people. I ordered the sea scallops with grilled asparagus. Unfortunately, the scallops and shaved Brussels sprouts underneath were extremely salty and basically inedible. The asparagus was fine but nothing special. That said, the staff immediately removed the dish from the bill and even sent us home with a complimentary slice of chocolate cake. No pushback, no awkwardness—top-tier service. Drinks were mixed. The Sauvignon Blanc and Sancerre were both great. The classic daiquiri, however, was a miss—pulpy, icy, and overly acidic. It needed better balance and a proper strain. Value-wise, this is pricey for the suburbs and feels more like downtown Chicago pricing. This isn’t a place you come for deals or regular dinners. It’s for special occasions, impressing someone, or expensing dinner. Bottom line: MK Steak doesn’t necessarily stand out for groundbreaking food, but the service is exceptional and the high points are very good. Cost keeps it from being a 5-star spot, but if you’re ready to splurge, it delivers a polished experience.

We enjoyed an early evening Sunday dinner! Debbie was a knowledgeable and attentive server. The lobster Rockefeller was the star of the evening. Three perfectly cooked lobster tails beautifully nestled into the shell with spinach, bacon, puddles of melted clarified butter presented on a bed of micro greens. Heavenly creation. If you love lobster, your palette will rejoice! The horseradish crust created an enjoyable touch to the dry-aged ribeye! We saw other dishes we'd like to try, so we will be back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ MK Steak + Bar – Glen Ellyn MK Steak + Bar has an atmosphere that’s truly top-notch—modern yet warm, somewhere between a speakeasy and an Aspen lodge. The lighting, seating, and overall ambiance make the space feel incredibly welcoming. Our server, Justin, was kind, attentive, and helpful with menu questions, which made the experience even better. The No-Loma mocktail was a bit too tart for my taste, but the wine list was beautifully curated and very fairly priced. For starters, the Cold Bar Ahi Tuna with wonton crisps was delicious, though definitely soy-forward—so if you’re not a soy fan, you may want to try something else. The filet lollipops were light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. They’re extra thin, so keep that in mind when choosing your preferred temperature. The baked French onion soup was outstanding—rich, hearty, and honestly something I’d come back for on its own. (I did find a bay leaf in mine, so just a small heads-up!) My 6oz filet came out a bit under (ordered medium, served medium-rare), but the flavor was fantastic. You can tell they’re cooking over a real fire—the subtle smokiness adds depth without overpowering the meat. The Caesar salad was also very good. We finished with the “Beignets,” which are more like powdered donuts than traditional beignets, but when served warm they were tasty and satisfying. Overall, MK Steak + Bar impressed me across the board—from ambiance to pricing—and I’d love to come back with a larger group to explore even more of the menu. Very pleased with the experience and will definitely return!

Tried MK steak for the first time last night. As other reviews have stated extremely loud in the restaurant…when you call to speak to the host, you can barely even hear them because of how loud the background noise is. We started off with a mix of East and West Coast oysters, which were very good. We ordered their two holiday drinks which were a maple, cinnamon, old-fashioned, and a peppermint, espresso martini. The peppermint espresso martini was very good however the entire cup was extremely sticky And when my wife asked for a new cup, they brought a napkin and started wiping the cup down for her, which was a little weird. The old-fashioned tasted like watered down bourbon with several dashes of cinnamon powder in there to the point that it was chunky. Besides the noise and the subpar cocktails, the fillet with the garlic, as well as the side dishes were excellent. Our Server Daisy was amazing and definitely helped make it a great date night. Eric, (sommelier maybe?) was also great and fun to have a convo with. Overall, I recommend this place (but will go straight to wine) and will be back in the future. Will definitely try to sit in the section that Daisy is serving!

Wonderful restaurant with a beautiful cocktail lounge and delicious menu items! The vibe is modern, moody and romantic with dark lighting. Perfect for date nights, girls night or a group dinner. The steak chimichurri was delicious and the shrimp cocktail is my favorite appetizer. Highly recommend but it’s busy so better to make a reservation!
